A true story of a transformed life!

Peter Kuma sat in the front row of the make-shift overhang that was constructed for the teaching. He was intent on learning the truth.         The next day, Peter looked conflicted.  When asked about any questions they might have about the teaching, Peter commented that he did not sleep well because he couldn’t stop thinking about the teaching.  His conclusion:  “I’m a bad man who has done many bad things.  There is no way that I could ever pay for my sin debt.   All I can do is trust in what Jesus Christ did for me on the cross.” Simple.  Clear.  Faith.        However, Peter’s story did not start there.   In the early 80’s, Peter was a language helper for Bob Hazen, missionary to his village.   Bob’s testimony and his care for Peter were seeds planted in his heart.    Due to a brutal civil war, Bob and his family left that village prior to teaching about the finished work of Christ.         Now fast forward to 2012...Bob Hazen is back in Peter’s village.  One day Peter and Bob walked from the main road to the village – a distance of about 4 miles.  During that walk, Bob clearly talked through the narrative of Scripture from Creation to the Cross with Peter glued to every word.  Unfortunately, Bob left that day without a hint of Peter’s inner response.   More seeds planted. The faithfulness of Bob and his obedience to the Lord were major factors in the blessing of being able to witness Peter’s transformation from death to life in the summer of 2013. Peter is currently teaching a group of people in his village through a book called “The Stranger on the Road to Emmaus” and continues to grow in his own faith to be able to equip others to serve. And what if Bob had quit?  And what would happen if you quit? Never underestimate the power of your transformed life as you faithfully plant seeds that will turn to a harvest...if you do not give up. “Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up,” (Gal. 6:9 ESV)
