Equip2serve International Directors

We are honored to introduce you to our friends & co-workers, George & Lucy Lott.  We are privileged to serve along side them. They are passionate about knowing God and are excited about seeing their own people reached & taught God's Word.  I want to take just a few minutes (via phone call) to ask them some questions about their lives so you can get to know them better. Q: George, when did you come to Christ? A: When I was young, my parents told me about God but I never understood the Gospel.  As a teenager, I heard clearly the Gospel message from a Southern Baptist Missionary.  I trusted Christ as my Savior. Later, I had many Bible studies with Ken Welch, who taught me more about God's Word. I was like a sponge, taking in all that I could learn. Q: Lucy, when did you come to Christ? A: I came to Christ much later than George.  It wasn't until we fled war-torn Liberia into Ivory Coast that I first became interested in hearing about God. It was a missionary, Rosemarie Baghurst , that taught the Chronological Bible lessons to me. I then trusted in Christ.  (George states that if it wasn't for the war, Lucy may have never heard the Gospel message) Q: How has Equip2serve made an impact in Liberia? A: The impact has been VERY GREAT!  In just a short time, many pastors have learned so much about God's Word.  Each week I have between 3-5 pastors coming to me asking for more materials & Bible lessons. They want me to teach them! I can't do all the work myself!  I'm very grateful for how Equip2serve is helping my country. Q: Lucy, how do you see your role in Equip2serve? A: I want to see other women become interested in the Bible. I want to see how we can reach out to them & begin teaching God's Word. ( Please pray as Equip2serve wives begin to bridge this gap with the ultimate goal of teaching women & children).  As a side note, Lucy has a servant heart. She is very hospitable, great cook & welcoming hostess! Q: George, how can we pray for you? A: Pray for wisdom.  Pray for me that I would know how to answer my fellow Liberians. Our culture can be a big obstacle to teaching God's Word. We need to have a solid foundation. Pray for my children. Pray that God will protect & guide them. Pray that they will seek after God. Pray that God will open our minds to His Truth. And that we can in turn teach others.         " I want to thank God for Equip2serve.  There are times when I question God about the war & all that happened. Then I realize that I need to trust that He knows why it happened. I'm excited to see how God works in Liberia through Equip2serve."  George Lott
