Who is your Hero?

Transformed into your favorite superhero?  OR Conformed to the image of Christ?

As youngsters we looked up to our parents, grandparents or close friends as our super heroes. They could do no wrong. They somehow possessed all powers.  They could protect us, care for us, and just plain do anything!  They were brave, fair, strong, extraordinary and above all full of love.

Then we grew up.  It think some of us put away our capes and fancy masks.  We knew that superheroes were a dream, not for real.  We realized that our heroes weren't always there for us (they've maybe left to save someone else). We still look up to them but they are human. They fail. They do make mistakes. Maybe there is more to life than superman...

As believers, we ultimately need to look to Jesus Christ as our all.  He is all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-loving.  He is Sovereign ruler and absolutely free to do whatever He wants.  He's everything we need!  " What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." A.W. Tozer said.  Do we know Him as faithful, good, just, gracious, merciful, and wise?

We also want our kids to come to this amazing truth It's so easy for our kids to make other people heroes (we did the same).  To look to the famous singer, to the hockey or soccer player, an actor, or even a pastor.  What we want to teach our kids is that Jesus is our Hero. That our relationship with Him is the MOST IMPORTANT. Then to go out into the world and exemplify HIM.

Our kids (Equip2serve has 17 in total) have made us so proud!  They have taken their relationship with Jesus Christ seriously. They've made that step to not only know Christ, but to make Him known. How have our kids been hands & feet for Jesus?  Serving kids in recovery programs, witnessing to those on the job, going on missions trips, helping with VBS, serving people by cleaning and cooking for them and the list goes on & on.  Here's just a few of our kids following Jesus...
